We've eaten at this Restaurant many times. The biggest issue has always been the huge wait for food to be served at the table. Sometimes we have waited for over an hour. With young children, this can be a big problem.

The food is generally of good quality and the place has a nice atmosphere. There are great views across the bay at the beautiful sunsets.

Tonight we ordered pasta carbonara for the boys to share, plus garlic bread. This came nice and quickly. The garlic bread was good (if you like your garlic!). Catherine ordered the sliced beef, which was good, but the potato wedges were rock hard and dreadful. I had the pasta pescador, which was spicy and tasty, one token prawn on the top, and not much evidence of seafood. Boys had usual ice cream and chocolate sauce. Catherine had the sambucca/coffee ice cream dish to finish off, this dish was poorly presented. I had a bucket of strong coffee.

R314 all in, plus tip. Served by Theo who was efficient.

30/12/08 By now, were all aware of the dreadfully slow service. Thought we'd keep the order simple in the hopes of speeding up the service as we had young children with us. Ordered six pizzas, and asked Andrew to bring out the children's food as soon as possible. One hour later, yes one hour later the pizzas arrived. They were dreadful. The kitchen must have run out of tomato base, and they were all prepared without tomato! Called Andrew over to show him the food. He couldn't believe it, and took a look for himself. He went to the chef who said 'he had tried his best to put some tomato on the pizzas'. Andrew then called the manager over - he said that they were using a new kind of tomato base that didn't show up very well. What a complete load of nonsense! R481 plus a tip.

16/04/11 This restaurant has had it's fair share of poor feedback, mainly due to slow service. Lettie, the owner's wife emailed us to say that all is now well. Theo has gone and the service issues have been sorted.
With this in mind, we booked a table for four people at 6.30pm. When we arrived, the place was filling up despite the raging South Easter.
Benson, our waiter showed us to our table in the small non smoking section. He seemed cheerful and efficient, unlike some of the sniffy waitresses of the past. Drinks orders were taken without fuss, and these duly arrived minutes later. Our food order was taken without any problems (he had a pen and notebook).
We came prepared for the long wait  with a pack of cards, and set about a game of Pontoon. This proved completely unnecessary, as after only a few hands, our meals arrived!
Three pizzas, a lasagne and a salad with the feta cheese strangely served on the side (feta was a bit soggy). The lasagne was good, and arrived piping hot. The pizzas looked and tasted good, however, they seemed a little short of tomato base. We queried this with Benson. He immediately offered to replace the offending pizza(s). However, he did explain they were deliberately light on tomato base, as the tomato tended to make the pizzas soggy. A fair explanation.
Dessert of tiramisu was ordered, but this was unfortunately unavailable, so we settled for two ice creams, a hot chocolate and coffee.
Bill came promptly when asked for, it came to roughly R440 plus tip.
The past problems do appear to be sorted, but the issue has been about poor, or lack of management. As long as Miguel remains in attendance, this place gets a recommend.
One small final point. The restaurant has a small non smoking section, and a large smoking section. If you are a non smoker, you may have to settle for a table in the smoking section, or brave the South Easter outside.
