Home-made pasta, ravioli, lasagne & gnocchi. You can also buy fresh pasta by weight. The deli stocks a wide range of imported Italian cold meats, cheese, pickles, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, biscuits, sweets, etc. Restaurant: Breakfast is served until 11h30 and lunch until 15h00. Set menu consisting of breakfasts, salads, ciabatta bread, pasta dishes, chicken dishes, dessert (tiramisu) and home-made Italian gelati. DAILY SPECIALS board, with specials such as liver, veal ossobucco, beef, mussels, soups, etc. Prices are from R25. Also serving speciality cakes and Segafreddo coffee. Operating Hours: Mon - Fri 09h00 - 17h00.
Trevor and Karen Hansen suggested we stop off for a light lunch, to tide us over until we tuck into one of Trevor's legendary authentic curries!
Off street parking is a bit tight, but adequate (though you wouldn't want to reverse down their driveway after a few too many Peronis, as witnessed by the scrape marks on the wall!).
Small intimate restaurant, run by Italians Marinella and her husband. A few tables inside next to the deli counter, and a few outside on the patio where we chose to sit.
We all settled for a bowl of pasta, some with olives and anchovies, mine spiced up with minced chorizo and tomato. Jane had Chicken Marsala, which was excellent.
Washed down with a variety of soft drinks, except for Trevor and Norman who settled for a couple of Peroni's. Marinella herself came over (as she always does) to make sure we were happy with the meal.
This place has a relaxed atmosphere, good food and very reasonable prices. We recommend it!
